Tooth wear treatment

Short, sensitive or chipped teeth are often a sign of tooth wear. Finding the cause early protects your teeth, and modern techniques can rebuild them with minimal drilling.

Overview

Diagnose the cause, then protect and rebuild

Teeth can wear from grinding and clenching, from acid (diet or reflux) or from abrasion. Usually it is a combination.

Chris identifies the cause, monitors change with digital scans over time and, when needed, rebuilds teeth using the least invasive approach, often bonded composite rather than crowns.

Benefits

FAQs

Common questions

Can't see your question? Call 0191 549 8888.

Is tooth wear just part of getting older?

Some wear is normal, but rapid or severe wear is not. It is worth assessing early, when it is easiest to manage.

Can it be treated without drilling?

Often, yes. Composite can be bonded onto worn teeth with little or no removal of healthy tooth.

Will I need a night guard?

If grinding is a factor, a custom guard helps protect your teeth and any new restorations.

How do you know if it is getting worse?

We compare accurate 3D scans taken months apart, which shows even small changes.
